MITUTOYO

A clear and uncompromising goal to provide the best quality products and value in every field has guided MITUTOYO since its humble beginnings in 1934, allowing them to become the world’s leading supplier of metrology equipment. Their products are used by professionals around the world to measure and inspect components with the utmost precision, ensuring the safe use and reliability of the products they create. MITUTOYO are committed to providing their customers with innovative and reliable metrology solutions.

More than 50 years in Europe

When the company was founded, its main task in the center of Europe was to make the MITUTOYO brand well-known in the European market. To achieve this goal, an agency system with one distributor per country was introduced. General agencies were established in Western European countries, with which they have confidently and in good cooperation strengthened their business base in Europe. At the same time, MITUTOYO also opened up the Eastern European market. However, due to the political situation, the possibility of activities in socialist countries was very limited. Despite this, Mitutoyo participated in many industrial exhibitions, visited national purchasing associations, etc. In addition, Mitutoyo presented its measuring instruments in demonstration vehicles at customers’ premises.

Düsseldorf was the first choice when looking for a suitable location for the new headquarters, which was finally founded in 1968 under the name “Sampoh”. Later, an agreement was made to establish an office in the city of Rhine (Rhein) on Sternstraße.

In the late 1960s and early 1970s, MITUTOYO’s business in Europe expanded rapidly, and the Sternstraße headquarters soon reached its limits. A new building was needed, and Neuss-Norf on the other side of the Rhine was chosen. In 1974, a new office and warehouse building was built, which was partially expanded to its current size.

Today, MMITUTOYO is represented in Europe by 13 sales companies and general contractors covering adjacent markets. Under the strategic management of Mitutoyo Europe GmbH, customers have access to an extensive production, sales and service network with more than 85 offices in 33 European countries.

At its M3 Solution Centers, MITUTOYO introduces its customers to the latest measurement technologies and provides top-quality solution engineering to support their business. MITUTOYO metrology institutes are dedicated to providing technical education that improves customers’ measurement evaluation technologies. The company has calibration laboratories that are ISO/IEC 17025 certified. By providing calibration services for measuring instruments, MITUTOYO contributes to the development and maintenance of quality control and assurance systems for customers throughout Europe.

INDEX group

With its INDEX and TRAUB brands, the INDEX Group is today one of the world’s leading manufacturers of CNC turning machines. The Company Group in Esslingen has 80 sites worldwide with 6 production sites and 12 international sales and service companies as well as an extensive retailer network.

History

INDEX-Werke were set up in 1914 by Hermann Hahn who began that year with the production of automatic turret turning machines. He was a Swabian entrepreneur through and through who laid the foundation for an impressive development with creative ideas and an aspiration for quality. Within four decades, more than 20,000 turning machines had been sold and these formed the basis for the excellent reputation of INDEX around the world. In 1975, INDEX began with the production of multi-spindle turning machines. A few years later, the company entered the market for CNC technology. And INDEX soon assumed a pioneering role here.

After the death of Eugen Hahn, the son of the company’s founder, 85% of the company shares were put into a foundation. In 1992, INDEX presented a new generation of turn-mill centers based on a modular component system. In 1997, TRAUB Drehmaschinen GmbH & Co. KG from neighboring Reichenbach/Fils was taken over and integrated into the INDEX Group. The company pursues a two-brand strategy to this very day.

Quality, made in Germany

INDEX and TRAUB consciously count on Germany as a production location and produce important components on their own turning machines and turn/mill centers. Motivated and superbly qualified employees ensure the high quality of the machines, each one reflecting their diligence and attention to detail. The staff are encouraged by the company and receive intensive further education. INDEX invests a great deal in the training of young employees, achieving a training rate of about six percent which is remarkable for a medium-sized company. In order to remain competitive, INDEX TRAUB focuses on flexible production strategies. Technologically leading, high quality products are the best foundation for growth.

FANUC

FANUC is a global pioneer in factory automation and a technology leader in CNC, robotics and ROBOMACHINE machine tools. As a pioneer in advanced technologies, they have been transforming manufacturing processes around the world since the 1950s.

Based on the commitment to relentless innovation, FANUC develop products with the highest reliability, precision and efficiency. As we enter an era of rapid technological advancement, thei mission remains unchanged: to provide industries around the world with the tools they need for tomorrow.

History

FANUC’s history began in 1955, when a young engineer, Dr. Seiuemon Inaba, was appointed to lead a new project team for Japanese telecommunications giant Fujitsu. Within a year, Dr. Seiuemon Inaba developed the first numerical control (NC) system for the Japanese private sector.

Evolving from the automation of individual machines to the automation of entire production lines in the following decades, the new business segment developed successfully under the leadership of Dr. Seiuemon Inaba, and in 1972 FANUC was established as an independent company.

Always striving to push the boundaries of automation, increase productivity, produce better products and reduce costs, Dr. Inaba and his team continued their work with a robot that used the same principles to load a machine tool. Dr. Inaba’s work soon meant that other manufacturers and engineering companies around the world were also benefiting from this technology, reducing costs and increasing productivity. And with world-leading products such as ROBOCUT, ROBODRILL and ROBOSHOT entering factories in the 1970s and 1980s, FANUC was able to provide optimised solutions for an ever-widening range of industrial applications and customers. In Japan, FANUC became the first company to build and operate an automated factory with NC machine tools and robots.

Almost 70 years since the development of its first successful product, FANUC is the leading manufacturer of factory automation in the world. However, one thing remains the same: FANUC’s deep commitment to pushing the boundaries of automation and helping their customers optimize production processes.

MITUTOYO – styli and accessories (01.10.25. – 31.05.26.)

New product range with great offers from MITUTOYO!

Our partners have created an opportunity to get acquainted with their latest promotional offer, which will be valid until June next year.

As the interface between the measuring system and the workpiece, the stylus is the key element in coordinate measurement. To perform its task, it must meet the highest quality requirements.

When the stylus tip contacts the workpiece, the probing sensor determines the geometric position of the contact point in the X, Y, and Z axes and relays this back to the control unit and CMM software. The touch point and scanning probe systems determine the stylus specification. To create perfect styluses that meet this specification, properties such as bending stiffness, thermal expansion, weight, and ball sphericity must be considered.

Mitutoyo styli are manufactured to the highest standards to ensure maximum quality and performance. Precision-machined components from the highest quality materials and Class 5 (DIN 5401:2002) styli balls form the basis for high-precision CMM measurements.

The Mitutoyo tactile product line includes over 1,000 tactiles and accessories and is constantly being expanded to provide the best possible solution for your specific measurement needs with a refined tactile feel.

This range of tactile products is developed with passion in the heart of Germany, drawing on long-standing experience and expertise.
